No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Cloud Web Hosting
We have tackled the issue of silent data corruption on all of our cloud web hosting servers by using the amazing Z file system, or ZFS. The latter is more advanced than other file systems as it is the only one in existence which checks all files in real time by employing a checksum - a digital identifier which is unique for every single file. When you upload content to your account, it'll be stored on several SSD drives and continually synchronized between them for redundancy. ZFS regularly examines the checksum of all files and if any file is detected as damaged, it's replaced quickly with a good copy from some other disk. As this happens in real time, there's no risk that a bad file may remain or may be copied on the other SSDs. ZFS needs lots of physical memory to perform the real-time checks and the advantage of our cloud web hosting platform is that we take advantage of multiple powerful servers working together. In case you host your websites with us, your data will be intact no matter what.
No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Semi-dedicated Servers
In case you go for one of our semi-dedicated server solutions, you won't need to worry about silent data corruption as we use ZFS - an advanced file system which checks all files in real time. Whenever you upload a file to your web hosting account, ZFS will assign a unique digital fingerprint to it - the so-called checksum. This file will be synced between a couple of SSD drives for redundancy, so if one drive fails, the other ones will take control. ZFS compares the checksum of all of the copies on the different drives and when it detects a corrupted copy, it replaces it with a healthy one from another drive. This is done instantly, so there will be no risk for any part of your content at any moment. In contrast, all of the other file systems perform checks after a system failure, but since they don't use anything similar to the checksums that ZFS uses, they will not detect silently corrupted files, so a corrupted copy could be replicated on the rest of the disks as well and you could lose precious info. Since this isn't the case with ZFS, we can guarantee the integrity of each and every file you upload no matter what.
